Whilst Valentine's Day took place last weekend, I have to admit - I've fallen for a lot of the new product that's awaiting you in the pro shop! Until the time comes when you can take a closer look, I am still here to help in any way I can so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

A tough start

Us all being golfers we can all relate to a tough start. A double bogey down the first and we are suddenly thinking, oh no what's my score going to be today. But a few pars later and we are on cloud nine and nothing can stop us.

I feel that is what this year has started like, 'A Double Bogey'. But I can promise you once we get the all clear to get back out playing golf and seeing our friends again, we will be back on cloud nine.

We all cannot wait to see you back at the club soon and we hope we have some better weather before then so the course is dry and in great condition.

Get ready for the restart

As we all are now thinking that golf is going to restart soon, we want to be in a position to play our best golf. If like me you haven't done much exercise and you're not feeling strong or flexible then this will affect our performance when we start up again.

To help I would like you all to commit to a simple exercises plan to get redy for the restart. This can be 10 minutes stretching in the morning, half hour walk twice a week, anything you can do to improve your fitness before we get back out on the golf course.

What ball do you use?

Another exciting project from Titleist whilst golf courses remained closed is their Virtual Golf Ball Consultations.

Each appointment is 25 minutes long – Consumers will have that time to ask any questions about Titleist's current golf ball line up and receive advice on which ball they should be playing, taking into consideration their flight/feel/spin preferences.

Distance Measuring Devices allowed on Tour

In other news, distance-measuring devices (laser rangefinders) will be permitted at the men’s, women’s & seniors’ PGA Championships this year. Whilst this has caused some debate amongst golfers and experts alike, it’s a reminder of just how incredibly useful they can be out on the course, saving time and shots.

The value of mid-layers

I’m sure we’re all pretty thankful to be moving towards spring - which means the Masters isn’t too far away (again!) - but we’re not clear of the winter weather just yet. Some days the waterproofs might be needed, whilst other days they can be left at home. So, what’s the solution?

Well, fortunately, some bright spark came up with the idea of a mid-layer. Giving you plenty of warmth and protection from the elements, mid-layers can come in handy both underneath a jacket in harsh weather or as your outermost layer on the milder days.

Under Armour has some great examples, like the Storm quarter-zip pullover with its dual-layer protection and ultra-warm brushed interior. Whatever the weather decides to do, you’ll have the right tools for the job with this mid-layer.
